In conjuction with Banyule City Council, City of Darebin, City of Whittlesea and Nillumbik Council, Wiltja Dog Obedience Club can assess your dog for the Dog Obedience Certificate that entitles you to Council registration fee discounts.
As a member of the AAPDT (Australian Association of Professional Dog Trainers Inc.) – non profit category – the Club is entitled to carry out this testing as approved by the Victorian State Government.
The $10 certificate tests simple on-lead control of your dog, calling your dog from a distance, a stay exercise and a human and dog interaction.
To be eligible for assessment the dog must be over one year old, registered with any of the above Councils and have a current immunisation certificate.
Owners may have their dog assessed for the certificate if they consider it has reached the required level of proficiency. Wiltja is offering a free five-week course for owners who believe their dogs need training before sitting the test.
